Simplified Laparoscopic Surgical Technique

Course sponsored by SEGI which takes place over three days "full-immersion", with the aim of providing a direct experience of the gynecologist "simplified laparoscopic surgical technique", developed by Dr. Mario Malzoni over the years.
This technique makes it possible to safely deal with the treatment of the most frequent pelvic diseases, avoiding the most dangerous complications and resort "in urgent need" to other specialists (urologist, general surgeon, vascular surgeon).

Students will be taught the basic maneuvers of endoscopic suturing and knotting through the preliminary presentation of the technique, but above all through practice on pelvic-trainer for a total of 8 hours. The student will be the star of exercises on simulators, innovative and tested for rapid learning and final time of laparoscopic suturing technique.
The learners after completing the entire educational path will undergo a "challenge test" final useful for checking the skills acquired laparoscopic. Particular attention will be paid to the choice of instruments and new technologies.

The laparoscopic surgical strategy correct, will be illustrated through educational sessions video via telesurgery live from the operating room, both interactive. The case studies will be presented with the help of ultrasound results. A constant tutoring ensure the resolution of any doubts, thus improving the final level of learning. Our teachers are present for the entire duration of the course, will be your tutors simulators and will always be available to participants, even during breaks, to discuss standards of care.

At the end of the course the student will have acquired the knowledge of the correct technique and surgical strategy sufficient to perform on safety, the following procedures: removal of ovarian cysts, oophorectomy, salpingectomy, salpingo, appendectomy, adhesions, myomectomy and hysterectomy.

DATE and TIME
The theoretical and practical course of laparoscopic surgery will be held October 1 to 3, 2015. Start of construction at 8:30 am; closing scheduled at 18:00 h.


METHODOLOGY
Classroom teaching through lectures, 8 h of practical training on simulators with exercises that meet the highest standards of teaching laparoscopic European and American, video sessions and live surgery interactive, discussion of clinical cases, presentation of clinical cases with ultrasound live tutoring low relationship between faculty and students, practical assessment of surgical skills acquired, the final assessment questionnaire with ECM.

OBJECTIVES
Welcoming the trainee with warmth and friendliness in an environment equipped with all comforts to dedicate, in the best conditions, the only learning. The pace of the course requires great commitment to the diversity of the exercises and the severity of the test. However, they are collected and areas and moments of "break" to give way to relax and share their professional experiences.
After completing the course gynecologists will be able to:
  • perform basic laparoscopic procedures: cystectomy, oophorectomy, salpingectomy, salpingo;
  • perform complex procedures: myomectomy, hysterectomy and subtotal, appendectomy;
  • perform advanced surgical step: viscerolysis, colposuspension and ureterolysis;
  • correct approach to laparoscopic surgery in obese women;
  • prevent, diagnose and manage intestinal lesions, vascular and urological.


CME (Continuing Medical Education)
The course is accredited by the Provider SRL Bluevents for Continuing Medical Education for the following professions: Surgeon (gynecology and obstetrics). The credits are awarded 28. The legislation does not provide for the allocation of CME credits to graduate and to other professions / medical disciplines than those listed above. To obtain the credits, the students enrolled in the course, are required to wear the electronic badge during all work, participate in 100% of scientific works, fill in the evaluation of the perceived quality and the evaluation questionnaire activities scientific Course.
